It can take a few days for Android 14 to become available to everyone. If you haven't received the update yet, please check again in a few days.
There was an issue while preparing to restart. What now?
If you receive this message while trying to update your Fairphone, wait at least a few hours, then try the update again.
Why is it no longer possible to turn on always-on display?
Our data shows the Fairphone 5's always-on display feature was a major source of battery drain. After much consideration, we decided to remove this feature so that your Fairphone will last even longer on a single charge.
I don't like dark theme. How do I turn it off?
Easy! Go to Settings → Display → Dark theme and tap to turn on or off.
Will Android 14 come to the Fairphone 4?
If you're using a Fairphone 4, we haven't forgotten you. We hope to bring Android 14 to the Fairphone 4 in the second half of 2024.
Will Android 14 come to the Fairphone 3?
After extensive research, we have made the difficult decision not to upgrade the Fairphone 3(+) to Android 14. The legacy Linux kernel (4.9) used in the Fairphone 3(+) poses significant challenges for the upgrade. It currently offers limited support for Android 13, and would not support Android 14 at all.
