How can I place apps or widgets on my home screen?

Have your favorite apps and widgets available one finger tap away!

To place an app, follow these steps:

  1. Open All Apps either via the Edge swipe or press and hold an empty spot on any panel
  2. Find your app
  3. Tap and hold the app icon
  4. A miniature version of your panels (including your home screen) shows
  5. Drag the icon to the desired panel and desired location on the panel
  6. Release your finger from the icon to place the app at that spot
  7. You can find your app now on the desired panel

To place a widget, follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold an empty spot on any panel
  2. Tap the widgets icon at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll right and left to find your widget
  4. Tap and hold the widget icon
  5. A miniature version of your panels (including your home screen) shows
  6. Drag the icon to the desired panel and desired location on the panel
  7. Release your finger from the icon to place the widget at that spot
  8. You can find your widget now on the desired panel

Notes
Widgets are a great way to see an overview of information contained in an app without having to open the app itself.

To remove an app or widget icon from a panel:

  1. Hold the icon with one finger
  2. Slide it to "Remove" at the top of the screen

This removes the shortcut from your home panel, it doesn't delete the app permanently. You can still find it under All Apps.

To delete the whole app:

  1. Go to Settings > Device / Apps
  2. Tap the icon of the app you want to remove
  3. Tap the Uninstall button

When you want to reinstall it again, you can download it via the original source. For example the Google Play store or F-Droid.
