How can I place apps or widgets on my home screen?

Would you like to have your favourite apps and widgets available one finger tap away? Then you are in the right place!

Want to add an app shortcut?

  1. Open the "All Apps" drawer by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
  2. Find the app you want to add.
  3. Tap and hold the app icon until it starts floating and a miniature version of your home screen panels will appear.
NOTE: some apps - like Gmail - will offer you a custom menu right after floating. Start dragging them around and the home screen panels will appear.
  4. Drag the icon to the desired panel and desired location on the panel.
  5. Release your finger from the icon to place the shortcut in that spot.

Want to add a widget?

  1. Tap and hold an empty spot on any panel.
  2. Tap the "Widgets" icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll until you find your widget.
  4. Tap and hold the desired widget until a miniature version of your home screen panels will appear.
  5. Drag the icon to the desired panel and desired location on the panel
  6. Release your finger from the icon to place the widget at that spot

Looking to re-arrange the icons and widgets on your screen?

That's easy! Tap and hold on the items to move them around. You can also group app shortcuts into folders by dropping them one on top of the other!

Need to remove an app shortcut or a widget?

  1. Hold the icon with one finger
  2. Slide it to "Remove" at the top of the screen

This removes the shortcut from your home panel and it doesn't delete the app permanently. You can still find it inside the "All Apps".

Want to uninstall an app instead of just removing the shortcut?

  1. Hold the icon with one finger
  2. Slide it to "Uninstall" at the top of the screen

This will remove the application permanently.

NOTE: the same process applies when working from the "All Apps" drawer.

Conclusion

You are now ready to customize your home screen in any way you see fit. Enjoy!
