This transformation prioritizes the user experience and products, while allowing our impact to resonate naturally.

Q: What are the key elements of Fairphone's new Brand Identity?

The key elements of our new visual identity are:

New logo: Simple, smart and confident, our new logo represents our refreshed brand identity and our bold approach to tech.

Colors: Our new color palette is fresh and vibrant, reflecting our unique ideas and sustainable mission. The dark green we use represents sustainability, maturity and distinctiveness, embodying our mission and values. The neon lime is bold, impactful and adds a vibrant spark of energy to the palette.

We round it out with a rustic, yet ethereal sand tone, symbolizing calmness and confidence, that brings a sense of balance to the palette.

Q: Why have you decided to change your branding?

To scale and amplify our impact, we need to expand our target audience. Fairphone’s new brand identity reflects our strategic shift that places user experiences and products at the forefront, while allowing our impact to resonate naturally.

Q: Why is everything lime green now?

It is one of our three main brand colors, along with forest green and sand. The neon lime is bold, impactful, and contemporary, and adds a vibrant spark of energy to the palette.

Q: Who is your new robot mascot?

This is Mobi! Mobi the robot personifies the global e-waste problem, collecting broken electronics whenever and wherever it can. Most smartphones have short lifespans because parts cannot be replaced. This is in contrast to Fairphone models that last much longer, thanks to replaceable parts such as the screen and the battery.

Q: Can I get Mobi as a (modular) toy?

No, that is not currently available, and we do not have Mobi merch.

Q: Are you going to launch a new phone?

Q: Who designed your new brand and mascot?

We worked with a creative agency, Fitzroy, to help us with our new visual identity.

Q: Have your mission and values changed?

Our mission and values have stayed the same.

Q: Why are some of your web pages still blue or purple?

We are doing a phased roll-out of our new brand identity, so it will take some time before the full website gets the makeover.

Q: What do the new colours represent?

Our new color palette is fresh and vibrant, reflecting our unique ideas and sustainable mission.

Q: Are your products changing brand color too?

Brand colors and product colors will be different. So while you will see our product packaging wearing our new colors, we will have separate color options for the products themselves.

Q: What is the environmental impact of your new packaging?

Our packaging remains the same as our old packaging in terms of environmental impact.

The Fairphone 5 comes in eco-friendly packaging, which means it is a plastic-free and paper-only box that is made from recycled paper while the internal sleeve is made with FSC-certified carton. Everything on the packaging is printed with vegetable ink. The packaging is optimized to use it as a package to send in an old device for our recycling program.

Q: Will you use the end of the stock you have, or will you not use old stock after changing packaging to something new?

Of course, we will continue to sell our current products as they are, in our old brand identity. 

Q: Will this brand refresh affect how you price your products?

No, it will not affect how we price our products.

Q: What if I prefer the old color? Can I get your new products in the old color?

Brand colors and product colors will be different. So while you will see our product packaging wearing our new colors, we will have separate color options for the products themselves.

Q: Is the brand refresh due to a merger or an acquisition?

No, it is not. We want our branding to reflect our new phase as a company.

Q: What does this mean for your partners, affiliates and stakeholders?

It means they will have to update their materials to ensure everything is aligned with the new brand identity.
