FP3(+). Forward calls and call waiting notification
When you are calling someone, it is nice to know when another call needs your attention.
You can manage incoming calls with a forward to your voicemail, a forward to another phone number and manage notifications.
Forward a call
To enable the Call forwarding function on your Fairphone 3/Fairphone 3+ (FP3/FP3+), you need at least one SIM card installed in the phone. Make sure that your provider enables Call forwards.
Once that is taken care of, please follow these steps:
- Open the Phone app (tap on the app you use to make phone calls)
- Tap on the More settings button (three dots) on the top right corner and select Settings
- Select Calling accounts
- Tap on the SIM card you want to activate the function on
- Then go to GSM call settings → Call forwarding → Voice. If this causes a "Network or SIM card error", your provider does not allow call forwarding.
- You can now choose four options. Click on each to adjust the settings and add the phone number:
- Always forward
- When busy
- When unanswered
- When unreachable.
Call waiting notification
To manage the Call waiting function on your FP3/FP3+, you need at least one SIM card installed in the phone. Make sure that your provider enables Call waiting notifications. To get a notification of an incoming call when you are already on the line:
- Open the Phone app (tap on the app you use to make phone calls)
- Tap on the More settings button (three dots) on the top right corner and select Settings
- Select Calling accounts
- Tap on the SIM card you want to activate the function on
- Then go to GSM call settings → Additional settings → Call waiting
- Select On / Off
No calls notification
Someone is calling you but you do not see any information on the screen?
Another issue that could happen is that your FP3/FP3+ is not showing the call notification.
This is usually due to a software setting that you, or 3rd party app, might have inadvertently modified.
To solve this, follow the below steps:
- Go to Settings → Apps & Notifications
- Find the Phone app (or any other custom dialer you installed from the Play store).
- Tap on Notifications and swipe the toggle to On
- Ask someone to call you to see if this fixed your issue.
Additionally, make sure you enabled the incoming calls option by following the next steps:
- Go the Phone app
- Click on the three dots
- Tap on Settings > Calling account
- Enable the option "Receive incoming calls".
If this does not work, please perform the following:
- Long press the icon of the Phone app → tap on Storage → tap on CLEAR STORAGE
