Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Important: Some of these steps only work if your Fairphone has Android 13 or above. Learn how to Check and update your software version.
Wi-Fi allows your Fairphone to connect to wireless networks. When connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can access the internet to download apps, stream music or video, and more.
Turn Wi-Fi on or off
To turn Wi-Fi on or off using the Settings app, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
- Tap Wi-Fi to turn on or off.
To turn Wi-Fi on or off using Quick Settings, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap Internet and then tap Wi-Fi to turn on or off.
Tip: Tap and hold Internet from your Quick Settings to quickly access more Wi-Fi options.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
To connect to Wi-Fi, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
- If Wi-Fi is already turned on, you'll see a list of available networks.
- If Wi-Fi is turned off, tap to turn on.
- Tap the name of the network want to use.
- If needed, enter the password and tap Connect.
- Once connected, you'll see Connected under the network name.
Your Fairphone will automatically connect to saved Wi-Fi networks when in range. To turn this on or off, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
- Tap the name of the network you want to change settings for.
- Tap Auto-connect to turn on or off.
Remove a Wi-Fi network
To remove a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
- Tap the name of the network you want to remove.
- Tap Forget.
