Set up a Hotspot
You can share your mobile data connection by setting up your Fairphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
How to set-up
Via Settings
Go to Settings → Networks & internet → Hotspot & tethering → Wi-Fi Hotspot and then toggle the switch to On.
You might have to set up a Hotspot name and a Hotspot password. If you want to prevent the Wi-Fi Hotspot from turning off automatically, tap on Advanced and disable Turn off hotspot automatically.
There are also additional options you can set up:

Hotspot name
Here you can change the hotspot name. -
Security
Here you can choose your encryption protocol. -
Hotspot password
Here you can change the hotspot password. -
AP Band
Here you can select the Wi-Fi band.
Via Shortcut
There is also a faster way to access the Hotspot settings:
- Swipe down twice from the top of the screen. You will open the pull-down Quick settings menu.
- Press and hold the Hotspot icon.
Tip: If you can't find the Hotspot icon, you may need to add it to the Quick settings first.
Issues with the connection
