Global network coverage

Find out where you can use your Fairphone, and which mobile networks it supports.

Using your Fairphone in Europe

All Fairphone devices are optimized for European mobile networks. For a full list of our partners in Europe, see our Where to buy page.

If your Fairphone is 5G compatible, it can also connect to most 5G networks in Europe. Check with your network operator for details.

Using your Fairphone in the United States

Various Fairphone products are being sold in the United States! Read more:

For network coverage in the United States, we recommend using T-Mobile. It's important to note that Fairphone is not optimized for Verizon and AT&T. While some features may work with these or other operators, you may experience issues with general connectivity and emergency calls.

Using your Fairphone in Colombia, Ecuador, Turkey and others

Fairphone devices cannot be used in countries that require specific local product registration or homologation. This certification process is typically in place to prevent the anonymous use of mobile devices. For example, the phone is not registered in the USA and thus doesn't have the required FCC registration code that would allow usage.

Registration is mandatory in some countries. This means that you can not use the device with a SIM card after the period has ended that each country has set (usually 1 month). You can still use the device with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections.

Using your Fairphone in the rest of the world

Fairphone devices are optimized for European cellular and 4G/LTE networks.

Please be aware that network requirements and standards can differ significantly in non-European regions. Therefore, your Fairphone device may not be fully supported by your specific Mobile Network Operator (MNO) in your region, even if it is a large, international one.

  • Fairphone devices should still work with 4G when it is enabled.
  • If your provider supports VoLTE (Voice over LTE) or VoWIFI (Voice over Wi-Fi), and this feature is not supported on the Fairphone for that specific network, it could cause issues with placing and receiving calls, and you might experience connection instability while on 4G.

We cannot guarantee that an overseas network will work. We recommend you check directly with your Mobile Network Provider regarding device compatibility with their network before use.
