Fix Bluetooth connection problems
If your Fairphone is having trouble pairing with or staying connected to a Bluetooth device, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Before you start
Make sure that your phone is up-to-date. If you are not running the latest software, or you are not sure, learn how to Check and update your software version.
For the Bluetooth device you're trying to connect to, make sure it's turned on, charged, and within range of your Fairphone. If other phones or computers can't connect to the device, the problem is most likely with the device itself. Check the manufacturer's instructions for support.
Restart Bluetooth and your Fairphone
If you can't connect to your Bluetooth device, try these quick fixes first:
- On your Fairphone, turn Bluetooth off and on again: How to turn Bluetooth on or off.
- Remove and then reconnect the Bluetooth device: How to connect to a Bluetooth device.
- Restart your Fairphone: Turn your phone on and off.
Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi connection settings
Important: This step will reset all Wi-Fi & Bluetooth settings.
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → System → Reset options.
- Tap Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi → Reset.
After resetting your connection settings, try reconnecting the Bluetooth device: How to connect to a Bluetooth device.
Connect to at least one other Bluetooth device
If your Fairphone can connect to another Bluetooth device, the problem is most likely with the device itself. Contact the manufacturer to find out if your device is compatible with your Fairphone.
