How to connect to a Wi-Fi network

Wi-Fi allows your Fairphone to connect to wireless networks. When connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can access the internet to download apps, stream music or video, and more.

Some of these steps only work if your Fairphone has Android 13 or above. Find out How to check and update your software version.

 


How to turn Wi-Fi on or off

To turn Wi-Fi on or off using the Settings app:

  1. On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi to turn on or off.

To turn Wi-Fi on or off using Quick Settings:

  1. On your Fairphone, swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Internet and then tap Wi-Fi to turn on or off.

Tip: Tap and hold Internet from your Quick Settings to quickly access more Wi-Fi options.

 


How to connect to a Wi-Fi network

To connect to a Wi-Fi network:

  1. On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
    • If Wi-Fi is already turned on, you'll see a list of available networks.
    • If Wi-Fi is turned off, tap to turn on.
  2. Tap the name of the network want to use.
    • If needed, enter the password and tap Connect.
  3. Once connected, you'll see Connected under the network name.

Your Fairphone will automatically connect to saved Wi-Fi networks when in range. To turn this on or off:

  1. On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
  2. Tap the name of the network you want to change settings for.
  3. Tap Auto-connect to turn on or off.

 


How to remove a Wi-Fi network

To remove a Wi-Fi network:

  1. On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Internet.
  2. Tap the name of the network you want to remove.
  3. Tap Forget.
