Back Cover, Protective Cases & Screen Protectors
To enhance the longevity of your Fairphone, we designed extra features to make it as robust as possible. It comes with an integrated back cover.
The Fairphone 3 is the only Fairphone that ships with a protective bumper. The other Fairphones, including the Fairphone 3+, do not need one.
We offer Protective Cases and Screen Protectors in our accessory line in case you like extra protection for them.
As with any electronic device, keep it away from sand, dust, and moisture!
Fairphone 3 Bumper
The Fairphone 3 ships with a protective Bumper in the box. This was decided in order to give you extra protection from falls and scratches while we were busy developing a fairer product (the Protective Case). The bumper is not available in our store.
If you want extra protection for your Fairphone 3+, we recommend to purchase a Protective Case.

Back cover
The Fairphone is designed with an integrated Back cover that acts as a battery cover, and in the Fairphone 4 it hosts part of the NFC antenna. It connects to the core module to contain all the other spare parts. In case you need to replace it, you can find a new one in the spare parts section of our online shop. Protective Case
We offer Protective Cases for the Fairphones if you'd like some extra protection for your Fairphone.
The Fairphone 5 Protective Case is made from of bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), from renewable-sourced materials. It provides the same performance and benefits as regular petroleum-based TPU while reducing it's eco-footprint. Our product team chose this material for its great balance in material properties: the best look and feel, durability against wear & tear, protection of the phone with the highest bio-based content while maintaining a fair price point.
Outstanding benefits of the material are:
- Superior abrasion, impact and puncture resistance.
- Antimicrobial.
- Fungal resistance.
- Very good chemical resistance.
- Cold temperature flexibility.
- UV resistance.
This made it the ideal choice for our protective case, allowing for a slim, lightweight construction, designed for longevity.

We decided to limit the preparation and coating to diminish the amount of waste and hazardous materials involved in producing the covers, which means that they are more prone to get dirty.
You can easily clean your Protective Soft Case with the kind of cloth used to clean glasses. If you separate it from the phone, you can clean it with baby wipes, a microfibre cloth with soft soap, or address persistent stains with a pencil eraser.
The Fairphone 4 Protective Soft Case is made from a new line of bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), from renewable-sourced materials. It provides the same performance and benefits as regular petroleum-based TPU while reducing it's eco-footprint. Our product team chose this material for its great balance in material properties: the best look and feel, durability against wear & tear, protection of the phone with the highest bio-based content while maintaining a fair price point.

Slim case
All colors have a rigid black rim that surrounds the display of the phone. This design is protective and easy to remove. For use with outdoor lifestyles, we recommend looking for an additional rubberized and/or waterproof bumper or case. Or use a ziplock bag.

Regular cases
The regular cases with an integrated rubber rim, are sold out. We do not produce these anymore.
The regular cases versions were: black matte, blue matte, transparent and black translucent.
The rigid material of the back is Polycarbonate (PC). The flexible rim of the regular back cover consists of Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Transparent regular and slim cases
The transparent and black translucent cases are not available anymore. We found out they break too easily.
Screen Protectors
We have Screen Protectors specifically designed for your Fairphone, for models Fairphone 4 and Fairphone 3(+).
These Screen Protectors will help your Fairphone screen last as long as possible. They are easy to apply and to remove but can be used only once. The protectors are made with tempered glass is durable and have some extra features:
- Increased scratch resistance.
- Reduced scratch visibility.
- Reduced breakage impact of display glass at low-level drops.
- Surface hardness is tested 9H.
- Oleophobic coating for easy cleaning and reduces fingerprints.
- Curved edges.

Screen Protector with Privacy Filter (Fairphone 5, Fairphone 4, no longer available for Fairphone 3(+))

Reduces damages to your display glass.

No one can see what's on your screen but you.
- 2-Way filter: so decreased visibility at right and left angles of the screen in portrait modus (in landscape modus the decreased visibility will be at top and bottom).
- 56° Degrees of vision: at a 28° degrees angle it has decreased visibility, at 45° degrees the visibility is fully filtered.
- Within those 56° degrees the visibility of the screen is nearly not affected: you will see only a very light grey tint.

Instructions
To apply the Screen Protector on your Fairphone display:
- Use a clean and dust-free work surface.
- Follow the instructions as shown in the video tutorial below. Or, follow the text instructions below the video:
To apply your Screen Protector:
- Switch off your Fairphone and remove the Protective Case.
- Use the cleaning tissue to remove any smudges from your screen.
- Next, use the microfibre screen wipe to remove watermarks and to thoroughly clean your screen.
- Use the dust removal sticker to make the screen dust free.
- Remove the plastic layer from the screen protector to expose its adhesive side. The plastic layer is transparent and quite rigid, the screen protector is more flexible.
- With the adhesive layer facing down, carefully line up the Screen Protector with the bottom edge of the screen.
- Slowly, roll the Screen Protector off towards the top of the screen.
- Let go of the Screen Protector to allow it to adhere to your screen.
- Gently apply pressure with the microfibre screen wipe to remove any remaining air bubbles.
- Turn your Fairphone back on, pop it back into its Protective Case and you are good to go!
Note
It is not possible to put the Screen Protectors on top of each other.
The Fairphone 4 Screen Protector is compatible only with the Fairphone 4.
The Fairphone 3(+) Screen Protector is compatible only with the Fairphone 3 and Fairphone 3+.
