How to set up Fairphone Moments
Fairphone Moments helps you reduce digital distractions by switching your home screen to a minimalist layout. Learn how to turn this feature on and off using the physical switch on the side of your Fairphone.
Fairphone Moments is available on The Fairphone (Gen. 6) running Android for Fairphone. On devices running /e/OS, flipping the physical switch toggles your camera and microphone access to safeguard your privacy instead.
How to turn Fairphone Moments on and off
You can activate or deactivate Fairphone Moments at any time using the physical switch on the side of the phone.
- Turn on Fairphone Moments: Flip the physical switch down. The minimalist Fairphone Moments home screen will open. If you flip the switch while using another app, the change happens in the background with a brief animation.
- First launch: The first time you activate Fairphone Moments, your home screen displays five default apps: Camera, Browser, Maps, Messages, and Phone. Opening and exiting any of these apps returns you to Fairphone Moments.
- Notification behavior: All incoming calls, text messages, and app notifications are blocked by default. Only messages and calls from your starred contacts or repeat callers (someone calling twice within 15 minutes) will break through.
- Turn off Fairphone Moments: Flip the physical switch back up. Your phone returns to your standard Android home screen, and any notifications missed while Fairphone Moments was active will reappear on your lock screen and in the notification drawer.
