How to turn your Fairphone on and off

Knowing how to power your phone on and off helps you manage daily use and quickly restart your phone when needed. You can also customize what happens when you press and hold the power button to match your preferences.

How to turn on your Fairphone

  1. Press and hold the Power button until the screen lights up.

How to turn off your Fairphone

  1. Press the Power button to wake the screen.
  2. Press the Power button and Volume up button at the same time.
  3. Tap Power off on the screen.

If enabled in your settings, you can also press and hold the Power button by itself to bring up the power menu.

Change your power button shortcuts

Pressing and holding the Power button on newer Android versions opens your digital assistant by default. You can change this setting to show the power menu instead.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Gestures.
  2. Tap Press & hold power button.
  3. Select your preferred option:
    • Power menu
    • Digital assistant
