How to take a screenshot and record your screen
Taking a screenshot or recording your screen is a simple way to capture and share what is on your screen. Follow these steps to take screen captures or record video clips on your Fairphone.

How to take a screenshot
Using phone buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
- Check the bottom-left corner of your screen to see a preview of your screenshot.
Using on-screen navigation
- Open the Recent Apps menu via:
- Gesture navigation: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and hold.
- 3-button navigation: Tap the square button.
- Tap Screenshot at the bottom of your screen.
On the Fairphone (Gen. 6) and the Fairphone (Gen. 6+), you can turn off the screenshot button shortcut. Go to Settings → System → Gestures and tap Screenshot shortcut to toggle it off.
How to record your screen
Starting a screen recording
- Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to open the full Quick Settings panel.
- Tap Screen record to open the menu.
- If the option is not visible, swipe right or edit your Quick Settings to add the tile.
- Choose if you want to record audio or show touches on the screen.
- Tap Start.
Stopping a screen recording
- Swipe down once from the top of your screen to view your notifications.
- Find the Screen recorder notification.
- Tap Stop.
