Take a screenshot or record your screen
Your Fairphone offers several handy features to help you interact with the digital world and capture what's on your screen. Whether you need to grab a screenshot of an important detail, record your screen for a tutorial, these straightforward steps will help you master these everyday tasks.

How to take a screenshot
With buttons:
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
- At the bottom left, you'll see a preview of your screenshot.
Without buttons:
- Open the Recent Apps menu:
- Gesture navigation: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold.
- 3-button navigation: Tap the square button.
- Tap the Screenshot button at the bottom of the screen.
Tip: On the Fairphone (Gen. 6) you can disable the screenshot button shortcut by going to Settings → System → Gestures and tapping Screenshot shortcut to toggle off.
How to record your screen
Start recording:
- From the top of your screen, swipe down twice.
- Look for Screen record and tap to open it.
Tip: If it's not visible, swipe right or edit your Quick Settings to add the tile. - Choose if you want to record audio and show touches on the screen.
- Tap Start.
Stop recording:
- From the top of your screen, swipe down once.
- Look for the Screen recorder notification.
- Tap Stop.
