If you need to replace the headband structure, headband cover, or internal audio cable on your 2025 model Fairbuds XL, this guide walks you through the disassembly and installation process step by step.

What you need before you begin

• A clean, flat work surface and a small container to store loose screws
• A Phillips #0 screwdriver
• Replacement 2025 headband, cover, or audio cable spare parts from our online shop

How to release the headband base

1. Turn off your Fairbuds XL.
2. Unplug the internal USB-C cable from the speaker unit.
3. Remove the two screws connecting the headband base to the headband frame and place them in your container.
4. Slide the headband cover upward, lift the silver locking lever, and slide the headband base out. Lower the silver lever again.

How to replace the headband cover

1. Slide the headband cover completely off the headband frame.
2. Fold the USB-C cable toward the top of the headband to create space.
3. Slide your replacement headband cover onto the headband frame, then pull the cable straight once it emerges on the other side.
4. If you are only replacing the headband cover, skip down to the reassembly steps below.

How to replace the internal audio cable or headband

1. Disconnect the USB-C cable on the opposite earcup.
2. Remove the two screws connecting the headband base on that side.
3. Slide the headband cover upward, lift the silver lever, slide the headband base out, and slide the headband cover off completely to detach the old cable.
4. Place your replacement USB-C cable inside the channel of the new headband frame.
5. Fold the cable toward the top of the headband and slide the headband cover over the assembly. Pull the cable straight once exposed.

How to reassemble your headphones

1. Lift the silver lever, slide the headband base into the headband frame, and push the silver lever down to lock it.
2. Tighten the two screws removed earlier to secure the headband base.
3. Plug the USB-C cable into the speaker unit.
4. Repeat these reassembly steps on the opposite earcup.
