Are Fairphone (Gen. 6) and (Gen. 6+) spare parts interchangeable?

The Fairphone (Gen. 6+) builds upon the design of its predecessor while introducing upgraded internal performance. This guide covers spare part compatibility, hardware specifications, and return options for recent orders.

Spare part interchangeability

All 12 user-replaceable spare parts are identical and fully compatible across The Fairphone (Gen. 6) and The Fairphone (Gen. 6+).

The memory and processor are not available as individual spare part replacements and cannot be switched between models.

Can I upgrade to the Fairphone (Gen. 6+) from my Fairphone (Gen.6)?

If you bought a Fairphone (Gen. 6) in the last 14 days and wish to switch to The Fairphone (Gen. 6+):

  1. Open the Return Portal
  2. Request a return for a refund under our 14-day return policy.
  3. Order your new phone online

If your purchase was completed more than 14 days ago, your smartphone is outside the standard return period and cannot be exchanged.
