How to see if you have a Fairphone (Gen. 6) or Fairphone (Gen. 6+)
You can quickly confirm whether you have a Fairphone (Gen. 6) or a Fairphone (Gen. 6+) using one of the below methods.
Third-party hardware checker apps and websites usually match basic model codes against online databases rather than reading your physical hardware directly. Because of this, third-party tools are not a recommended or reliable source for verifying your exact model.
Check in Fastboot
Fastboot reads your smartphone hardware directly and is the most reliable source of truth when confirming your Fairphone model.
- Power off your Fairphone completely.
- Press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button at the same time until the Fastboot screen appears.
- Review the on-screen text to locate the exact value listed next to Memory size:
- The Fairphone (Gen. 6) will display 8GB + 256GB.
- The Fairphone (Gen. 6+) will display 12GB + 256GB.
- To exit this mode and return your device to normal operation, use the Volume up or Volume down buttons until Start is highlighted on the screen, then press the Power button once to reboot.
Fastboot displays a product name that applies to both the Fairphone (Gen. 6) and the Fairphone (Gen. 6+). Checking your phone memory size provides the most accurate confirmation of your model.
Check your order confirmation or packaging
- Review the original order receipt emailed to you from the Fairphone online shop or third-party seller.
- Check the white barcode label on the original product box to view the exact model name.
