How to replace the silicone rings and eartips on your Fairbuds 2

Replacing the silicone rings and eartips on your Fairbuds 2 ensures a comfortable fit, a secure seal, and optimal sound quality. 

What you need to know before starting

The steps below apply to both the left and right earbud.

Replacing the silicone rings

Remove the old ring

  1. Hold the earbud stem firmly with one hand.
  2. Locate the notch at the top of the earbud.
  3. Lift the silicone ring using the notch, peel it down over the stem, and pull it completely off.

Install the new ring

Check the inner marking of the replacement silicone ring or eartip to ensure you are installing the correct size and earbud side.

  1. Ensure the silicone ring corresponds to the correct earbud (left or right).
  2. Slide the ring back through the stem with the small notch facing upward.
  3. Align the notch on the ring with the tiny notch at the top of the earbud.
  4. Check that the ring fits snug against the earbud.

Changing the silicone eartips

Remove the current eartip

  1. Unfold the outer edge of the eartip outward.
  2. Pinch the base of the eartip with two fingers.
  3. Gently pull it straight off the earbud nozzle.

Install the new eartip

  1. Take your replacement eartip and flip it inside-out.
  2. Fit it firmly onto the earbud nozzle.
  3. Fold the eartip back down into its natural shape.
