How to use Bluetooth on your Fairphone

Bluetooth allows your Fairphone to connect wirelessly to other devices so you can share data, listen to music, or connect accessories. Here is how to manage your wireless connections and adjust your settings on your phone.

How to turn Bluetooth on or off

You can turn Bluetooth on or off using either the Settings app or the Quick Settings menu.

Using the Settings app

  1. On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Connected devices → Connection preferences → Bluetooth.
  2. Tap Use Bluetooth to toggle it on or off.

Using Quick Settings

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open Quick Settings.
  2. Tap Bluetooth to turn it on or off.
  3. Tap and hold Bluetooth in your Quick Settings menu to instantly access your connection preferences and paired accessories.

How to connect a Bluetooth device

Before you connect, make sure your external accessory is turned on and set to pairing mode.

  1. Go to Settings → Connected devices → Pair new device.

If Bluetooth is currently turned off, it will turn on automatically to pair a new device.

  1. Wait for your accessory to appear in the list, then tap its name.

If your accessory does not appear, check the instructions that came with the device to make sure it is in discovery mode.

  1. Tap Pair.
  2. If prompted, confirm the pairing code on your screen.

Once connected, your active device appears under Connected devices. Previously paired items stay stored under Saved devices for quick reconnection in the future.

How to remove a Bluetooth device

If you no longer use an accessory or want to clear its connection history, you can remove it from your phone.

  1. Go to Settings → Connected devices.
  2. Under Saved devices, tap See all to view your previously connected accessories.
  3. Tap the Settings gear icon to the right of the device name you want to remove.
  4. Tap Forget.
