Sometimes, the problem might be too complex for a DIY repair. Our trusted repair centres are the best way to go in these cases. They will further diagnose the issue in detail before letting you know the next steps. Some repairs are covered by warranty while others are not. We’ll keep you in the loop if there are any costs involved, and only proceed with your approval.
Do it yourself
Some repairs are easy and much more convenient for you to do in the comfort of your own home. We recommend diagnosing the issue first, as some repairs are covered by your warranty. What you’ll need to repair at home: the relevant spare part, a Phillips 00 or Torx T5 screwdriver, and the right repair guide.
Do you provide a guide for replacing spare parts?
We do! You can go to our detailed repair guides, and select your device from the drop down menu. From there, you can see how to replace a spare part. If you need further help, you can diagnose issues in our portal.
Who are B2X?
In the Fairphone Repair Request Portal, it says "powered by B2X". B2X are our partner company who supports with the repair request portal! The portal is an authorised service by Fairphone.
Repairs
How do I track my repair?
You can track your repair by entering the job number or serial number in our Repair Tracker.
Will my repair be covered by the warranty?
When you send your device for repair, the repair center will perform a full inspection and diagnostics. If we find no signs of accidental or cosmetic damage, and your product is still within our standard or extended warranty period, then yes, your repair will be covered!
What if the repair center finds damage not covered by the warranty?
If the repair center finds damage not covered by our warranty, they will send you a quote for the repair costs. You will then have the following options: Accept the quote and pay for the repair, or Pay for shipping to have your device returned unrepaired, or Abandon the device for free recycling.
How much will my repair cost?
If your repair is covered by our standard or extended warranty, it won’t cost you anything! For repairs not covered by our warranty, the repair center will send you a quote based on our price lists, found here for phones, and here for audio devices.
Can I repair my device at home?
Absolutely! We encourage you to repair your Fairphone yourself. To ensure you get the correct solution, we strongly recommend first diagnosing the issue at home. This will help determine if the repair is covered by your warranty and/or if it's something you can easily fix at home. Once you've diagnosed the problem, you can explore our detailed guides and find spare parts readily available on our website. Will opening my device cause damage or affect the warranty?
We’ve designed our products to be easily repairable, and if you follow our instructions carefully, performing DIY repairs shouldn’t cause damage or void the warranty.
