Buying and using Fairphone products outside of Europe
We love seeing the demand for fairer electronics grow all over the world! Currently, as an Amsterdam-based company, we only sell and ship directly to supported countries within Europe. For the foreseeable future, we will continue to focus our direct operations on this region to ensure we can provide the best possible support and repair services.
However, if you live outside of Europe and want to join the fair electronics movement, you have a few alternative options depending on your location.
Options for customers in the USA
Smartphone, spare parts and accessories
We have officially partnered with Murena to offer The Fairphone (Gen. 6) equipped with /e/OS to customers in the US, along with spare parts and accessories for Fairphone 4 and The Fairphone (Gen. 6).
- Warranty & Support: You can register these devices for our Extended Warranty on our website. However, please note that all standard customer support, troubleshooting, and repairs are handled directly by Murena.
- Network Compatibility: The Fairphone devices sold via Murena in the US are optimized specifically for the T-Mobile network.
Audio products
Our Fairbuds and Fairbuds XL are available to US customers through both Murena and Amazon US.
- Murena Purchases: Support and warranty claims are handled directly by Murena.
- Amazon US Purchases: Amazon handles support and returns for the first 30 days. After this period, our authorized U.S. service partner, ICE Mobility, handles manufacturer warranty claims.
Global shipping partners (Rest of the World)
For regions outside of Europe and the USA, authorized independent partners like Vireo offer global shipping for our devices.
Please note: If you purchase through a global reseller, your device is covered strictly by their own sales terms, conditions, and warranty. You will need to rely on their logistics and support for any repairs or replacements.
Shipping via friends or family in Europe
You can place an order in our online shop and have it delivered to a friend or family member living in one of our supported European countries, who can then forward it to you by their own means.
If you choose this route, please be aware of the following:
- Testing on Arrival: We highly recommend your friend or family member checks the parcel and tests the device upon arrival for any immediate damage or faults before sending it to you.
- Logistics & Costs: All forwarding logistics, shipping costs, and customs fees are entirely your responsibility.
- Repairs & Replacements: We do not offer support for network connection issues outside of Europe. Furthermore, repairs and replacements are not supported outside of our listed European countries. If your phone ever needs an in-warranty repair, it must be sent back to a supported European address first.
Network compatibility & extended warranty limitations
- Network: If you plan to use a European-bought Fairphone abroad, please check if it will work on your local network before purchasing.
- Extended Warranty: Our commercial Extended Warranty cannot be registered for devices owned outside of Europe. The only exceptions are US smartphone purchases made via Murena and Taiwanese purchases made via FET/Palcom.
