Set up hotspot and tethering

- Some network operators limit or charge additional fees to share your mobile data connection. Contact your network operator for details.
You can use hotspot and tethering to share your Fairphone's mobile data connection with other devices via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and more. This allows other devices to access the internet using your mobile data.
Set up a Wi-Fi hotspot
To set up a Wi-Fi hotspot, follow these steps:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering.
- Tap Wi-Fi hotspot and then tap Use Wi-Fi hotspot to turn on or off.
Tip: You can also change your hotspot's name and password, or tap Security → None if you don't want to require a password.
Set up Bluetooth tethering
To set up Bluetooth tethering, follow these steps:
- Using Bluetooth, connect your Fairphone with the other device.
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering.
- Tap Bluetooth tethering to turn on or off.
Tip: Not all devices can access your Fairphone's mobile data via Bluetooth tethering. Check the device's support resources or contact the manufacturer for details.
Set up USB tethering
To set up USB tethering, follow these steps:
- Using a cable, connect your Fairphone with the other device.
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering.
- Tap USB tethering to turn on or off.
Tip: Use a cable that fits your Fairphone's USB-C port and the port on the other device.
