Check if your cable and charger is compatible
For the best results, we recommend using our Dual-port 30W charger and USB-C to USB-C cable. We've designed these to work perfectly with the Fairphone 3 and above.
Third-party cables and power adapters may work, but it's important to make sure they are compatible with your Fairphone to charge it safely. You can usually find the technical specifications of your equipment on the packaging, or by checking the website of the manufacturer.
To check if your third-party charger and cable is compatible, choose your phone below:

- Use a high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable that supports a minimum of 60W (20V and 3A).

- Use a high-quality USB Power Delivery (USB PD) charger that supports PPS at a minimum of 30W (9V and 3A).
- Or, use a charger that supports Quick Charge 4.0 or above.

- Use a high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable that supports a minimum of 60W (20V and 3A).

Charge your Fairphone's battery
Your Fairphone comes with a removable, lithium-ion battery. To charge your Fairphone's battery:
- Connect one end of the charging cable to our Dual-port 30W charger or a compatible third-party power adapter.
- Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the charging port at the bottom of the Fairphone.
- Connect your power adapter to a power outlet.

Can I charge my Fairphone wirelessly?
No, it's not possible to charge your Fairphone wirelessly. Current data suggests wireless charging is less efficient than wired charging. Depending on further development of this technology, it could be something we consider in the future.

Why is there no cable and charger included in the box?
Fairphone was one of the first smartphone manufacturers to actively reduce e-waste by not including a cable or charger in the box.

How can I tell if my Fairphone is charging?
When you plug in your Fairphone, the display will light up and show the current battery percentage.
You can also turn on charging sounds and vibration:
- On your Fairphone, go to Settings → Sound & vibration.
- Tap Charging sounds and vibration to turn on or off.
Why is my Fairphone charging slowly?
There are a few reasons your Fairphone may be charging slowly. Make sure that you:
- Check if your cable and charger is compatible.
- Use a wall outlet instead of a laptop or other power sources.
- Clear any dust or lint from the USB port using a can of compressed air.
Tip: It's normal for your Fairphone's battery to charge slower once it reaches 80%. This helps extend the battery's lifespan.
My Fairphone has stopped charging
There are a few reasons your Fairphone may have stopped charging. Make sure that you:
- Check if your cable and charger is compatible.
- Try at least one other cable and charger to rule out any problems with your charging equipment.
